Dual-Property Hotel Operations Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Dual-Property Hotel Operations Manager to lead daily operations for two affiliated limited-service hotel properties in Merced County.
In this role, you will oversee hotel operations, supervise staff, support guest service, maintain property standards, and help improve overall performance. The ideal candidate has hotel or motel operations experience, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage front desk, housekeeping, guest relations, staffing, and basic operational needs across two locations.
This is a full-time, on-site management role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is comfortable leading by example.
Duties
- Oversee daily hotel operations across two affiliated properties, including front desk, housekeeping, guest service, maintenance coordination, and property standards
- Lead, supervise, train, and coach staff to ensure consistent service and adherence to company standards
- Create and manage schedules to support reliable staffing coverage
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving service issues, and supporting guest recovery
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, OTA performance, guest reviews, and local market trends
- Support revenue management efforts to improve occupancy, rate performance, and profitability
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, performance documentation, staff accountability, and scheduling
- Review daily reports, deposits, cash controls, invoices, payroll inputs, labor costs, and operational expenses
- Support brand standards, inspections, loyalty enrollment, and quality-assurance readiness
- Review or support night audit processes and daily financial reconciliation as needed
- Maintain compliance with safety expectations, hotel policies, workplace standards, and applicable employment practices
- Coordinate with ownership, payroll/HR support, vendors, and brand representatives
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, performance improvement, and termination decisions
- Respond to urgent property needs when necessary
- Occasionally assist with front desk coverage, housekeeping support, guest service, room inspections, laundry, vendor coordination, or basic maintenance follow-up when needed
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within hospitality, hotel, motel, or property operations
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including guest service, front desk, housekeeping, scheduling, staff supervision, and revenue performance
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and professional issue resolution
- Ability to manage hourly staff fairly, consistently, and professionally
- Experience with budgeting, labor control, daily reporting, cash controls, and operational cost management
- Familiarity with front desk operations, phone etiquette, guest recovery, and night audit procedures
- Comfortable using property management systems, email, spreadsheets, online platforms, and basic reporting tools
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and follow-through
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays when operationally needed
- Reliable transportation within Merced County
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities, especially English/Spanish, are strongly preferred
- Familiarity with California wage-and-hour expectations, employee documentation, workplace safety, and hospitality compliance is preferred
- Driver's License and ability to travel between locations is required
Hands-On Operational Support
This is a hands-on management role. The manager may occasionally assist with front desk coverage, housekeeping support, guest service, room inspections, laundry, vendor coordination, or basic maintenance follow-up when needed.
The primary responsibility of the role is management and oversight of hotel operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $70,304-$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications

This position is expected to be classified as exempt, subject to meeting applicable California salary and duties requirements. Final classification will be confirmed during hiring and onboarding.
