Position Summary:
Dairy State Bank is searching for an experienced Mortgage Lender to join the lending team in Rice Lake, WI. This position is responsible for assisting customers with home ownership. The Mortgage Lender becomes the primary contact for the customer from application to closing of their home loan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct business within all state and federal regulations. HMDA and other regulatory data collection.
Make business development calls to real estate brokers, builders, etc. to solicit new business as well as expand services to existing customers.
Assist customer with determining which type of mortgage best fits the customer’s needs, and discuss with customer the terms and conditions of particular loans.
Collect all necessary financial information, including income, employment history, assets, investments, home ownership, debts, credit history, prior bankruptcies, judgments and liens.
Prepare and present presentations of applications to loan committee for approval.
Run credit reports and submit loan packages to underwriter for review.
Support the bank and the lending team by participating in community/bank sponsored events. Participate in appropriate organizations and clubs to grow professionally and develop a strong professional network. Support the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.
Provide excellent customer service and cross sell other bank products based on need of customer.
Ensure completion of loan file documents for closings.
Understand/Monitor relevant insurance programs. Maintain license to sell insurance products to enhance various loan types.
Review loan delinquencies and take appropriate collection/foreclosure action.
Keep up to date with all regulatory changes by attending subject appropriate seminars, webinars, etc.
Participates in weekly loan and discount meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requirements include Associate Degree or higher in business/finance and 5-7 years of experience in mortgage lending. Intermediate computer skills, typing, 10-key and math skills are required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze financial data. Knowledge of mortgage loans, title work and escrow accounts preferred. Strong written and verbal skills, a respect for confidentiality and professional demeanor are all expectations. Must have exceptional organizational skills. Mortgage lenders must competently perform mathematical tasks. Experience with Microsoft Office Products required. Knowledge of Mortgagbot or other related software preferred.
