What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator with expertise in electrical systems estimation, high-voltage equipment, and utility-scale infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for Accubid-based estimating, commercial/utility takeoffs, procurement management, and change order calculation for complex distribution, transmission, and substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical systems estimation for power engineering and utility infrastructure projects
- Perform detailed commercial and utility takeoffs using Accubid
- Estimate and price high-voltage equipment (transformers, switchgear, breakers, feeders)
- Support transformer sizing and equipment selection based on project specifications
- Develop accurate cost models for distribution/transmission systems and substation construction
- Manage procurement and vendor pricing for materials and equipment
- Prepare and validate change order calculations and cost impacts
- Review RFPs, drawings, and infrastructure design documents for scope completeness
- Collaborate on bid strategy, risk analysis, and margin optimization
- Mentor estimators on Accubid proficiency, takeoff accuracy, and utility estimating best practices
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years in electrical estimating, utility construction, or power engineering
- Strong experience with high-voltage equipment and electrical infrastructure systems
- Proven work on distribution, transmission systems, and substation projects
- Advanced Accubid proficiency required
- Expertise in electrical systems estimation, commercial/utility takeoffs, and change orders
- Knowledge of transformer sizing, procurement management, and infrastructure design
- Strong Excel skills for cost modeling and bid analysis
A detail-oriented estimator with strong experience in utility-scale electrical work, high-voltage systems, and cost modeling, capable of delivering accurate, competitive bids and driving successful project outcomes.
