Metal Fabrication Associate
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Available Shifts:
- First Shift: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Second Shift: 4:00 PM–3:00 AM
We are seeking dependable Production Associates to support sheet-metal fabrication operations at a manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village. Associates will assist with producing metal components using fabrication machinery and various secondary finishing processes.
This is a hands-on, physically active position ideal for candidates with manufacturing, machine-operation, metal-fabrication, or production experience. Mechanically inclined candidates who are interested in learning manufacturing equipment are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with cutting, punching, bending, and forming sheet-metal components
- Load raw materials and metal parts into production equipment
- Remove completed parts and prepare materials for the next stage of production
- Operate or assist with fabrication machinery according to training and work instructions
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring, grinding, cleaning, or finishing metal parts
- Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment
- Inspect completed parts for proper dimensions, bends, holes, and overall quality
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or incorrectly produced components
- Read and follow work orders, production instructions, and basic diagrams
- Count, organize, label, and stage completed parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all production, quality, and workplace safety procedures
Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing, production, machine-operation, or metal-fabrication experience preferred
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around industrial machinery
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Basic measuring and math skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Willingness to learn different fabrication processes and equipment
Candidates with experience as a machine operator, production associate, press operator, metal fabricator, CNC machine helper, press-brake helper, or manufacturing associate are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $16.50 per hour
