Job Summary
We are seeking Data Center Technicians I and II to support the installation and maintenance of structured cabling and critical infrastructure in commercial data center environments. These contract-to-hire positions provide hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement within the low voltage and telecommunications industry. Technicians will support projects involving fiber and copper cabling, equipment racking, infrastructure installation, and compliance with jobsite safety requirements. Technician I is appropriate for entry-level candidates, while Technician II is intended for candidates with 1-2 years of relevant field experience who can perform assigned work with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities
- Install structured cabling infrastructure and perform fiber rough-in.
- Dress, route, organize, and label copper and fiber cabling.
- Perform copper and fiber cable terminations.
- Rack and stack network, server, and customer equipment.
- Complete server rack buildouts and work from rack elevation documentation.
- Install ladder racks, fiber trays, cabinets, power trays, and related infrastructure components.
- Receive materials and perform basic hardware assembly.
- Assist with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber installation into data center facilities.
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite in accordance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with leads, supervisors, and team members.
- Follow established installation procedures, quality standards, and project requirements.
Job Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in structured cabling, low voltage, telecommunications, or data center environments; entry-level candidates may be considered for Technician I opportunities.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, installation documentation, and rack elevations.
- Ability to work safely on ladders and scissor lifts and within confined spaces as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the duration of a work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move materials or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to provide and use required hand tools, including a multi-bit screwdriver, tape measure, snips, needle-nose pliers, channel-lock pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, and tool pouch.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel- or composite-toe work boots and gloves.

- Primary work location is Bridgeport, Alabama.
- Candidates located within a reasonable commuting distance may be considered, including candidates from the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report consistently to the assigned jobsite are required.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 80.0 per week
