Responsibilities
- Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll platforms, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws by staying current on legal requirements related to payroll tax, wage laws, and benefits administration.
- Reconcile accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Manage benefits administration tasks such as enrollments, changes, and inquiries while supporting employee questions about payroll deductions and benefits.
- Assist with accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, non-profit accounting (if applicable), and governmental accounting procedures.
- Support time & attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms for accurate tracking of employee hours and leave management.
- Perform data entry with precision using 10-key typing skills to ensure all payroll information is correctly recorded.
- Collaborate with the HR team on onboarding processes, employment verification, and maintaining compliance with labor law regulations.
- Contribute to financial analysis by preparing reports related to payroll expenses, tax filings, and labor costs for management review.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian or similar platforms supported for payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law compliance and payroll tax regulations across different jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or equivalent financial tools; familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable management, and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10-key typing is essential.
- Solid understanding of benefits administration processes and human resources functions within an organizational context.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data accurately; strong attention to detail is critical for account reconciliation and audit readiness.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments on payroll issues or HR inquiries; knowledge of HRIS platforms like PeopleSoft or UltiPro is advantageous.

Pay: $25.23 - $30.38 per hour
