Role Description the Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based at Elk Mountain Ski Resort Inc in Union Dale, PA. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including managing general ledger entries, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Financial Controller monitors budgets, cash flow, and variance analyses, and provides financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions. Responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, coordinating payroll data, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The role also involves supporting audits, preparing financial summaries for leadership, and collaborating with department managers to optimize financial performance throughout the resort’s operating seasons.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Accounting and Finance, with experience managing daily accounting operations and financial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and Financial Statements and conduct accurate Financial Reporting for leadership and shareholders.
- Experience with accounting software, along with solid Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g.,
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a seasonal, fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site.
· Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry, electronic record management, and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
· Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with multiple (10-12) department heads while contributing to a collaborative, team-focused workplace.
Pay: $73,091.79 - $88,024.52 per year
