American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma, teaching hospital, requiring conscious sedation experience, Epic proficiency, and an active WA or compact RN license.

Work in an Endoscopy unit within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital

Unit covers three areas: intake/pre-procedure, sedation, and post-procedure recovery — float rotation across all three areas is required

Patient ratios: 1:1 in the intake area, 1:1 in the sedation area, and 1:2 in the post-procedure area

CRNAs are available for patients requiring MAC sedation
-
Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (8:30–19:00); shift may occasionally begin at 7:30 with advance notification
-
On-call required: 1–2 weekend and/or holiday call shifts per month
-
Epic EMR — required proficiency
-
13-week contract with the possibility of extension beyond 13 weeks

Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Conscious sedation certification highly preferred

Minimum 2 years of acute hospital RN experience required

ICU background highly preferred

Conscious or procedural sedation experience is required — candidates without this experience will not be considered

Telemetry experience required, including proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Epic EMR experience required

Experience in high-volume, high-acuity, teaching, and trauma environments strongly preferred
-
COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
-
A Relias assessment covering telemetry and dysrhythmia management is required as part of the evaluation process

Scrubs are facility-provided as needed, or candidates may wear their own solid-color scrubs
-
RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum; no more than 6 days of RTO for the contract

Former UW Health System staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being considered as a traveler
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius restriction applies

On-site parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking garage option (~1 mile away) is also available at a reduced rate via a weekday shuttle (5am–10pm, Monday–Friday only)
