Position Summary
The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) Employment Specialist is responsible for assisting homeless and at-risk veterans in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. This role focuses on job readiness, career development, and connecting veterans with local employers and community resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized employment services to enrolled veterans
- Conduct intake, assessments, and develop employment plans
- Assist with resume building, job search, and interview preparation
- Build relationships with local employers to create job opportunities
- Coordinate job placements and follow-up support services
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in compliance with program requirements
- Collaborate with community partners and veteran service organizations
- Track employment outcomes and report progress
Qualifications
- Experience working with veterans, homeless populations, or workforce development programs preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment resources and job placement strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport with diverse populations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in social services, counseling, or workforce development
- Knowledge of VA services and veteran-specific programs
- Experience with case management systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
