Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a youth group home dedicated to supporting young individuals in need. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities within the youth group home, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and program guidelines.
- Coordinate intake processes for new residents, including assessments and individualized care planning.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and resolve conflicts effectively using de-escalation techniques.
- Oversee medication administration, health & safety procedures such as first aid and CPR, and manual handling when necessary.
- Maintain resident confidentiality while documenting case notes, incident reports, and data collection accurately using Microsoft Office tools.
- Support residents’ social development by facilitating group activities, life skills training, and family engagement initiatives.
- Monitor security measures within the facility to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff alike.
- Collaborate with social workers, mental health professionals, addiction counselors, and community partners to provide holistic support tailored to individual needs.
- Manage crisis situations with professionalism by applying crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all policies related to working with culturally diverse communities and high-risk populations.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in residential or community-based settings working with youth or high-risk populations.
- Strong background in childcare, social work, behavioral health, or related fields with familiarity in working with individuals experiencing homelessness or substance use disorders.
- Demonstrated ability in conflict management, de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and behavioral management strategies.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions or behavioral challenges from underserved communities.
- Knowledge of case management practices including intake procedures, client communication, filing systems, data collection, and documentation standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for report writing and record keeping.
- Certifications such as first aid, CPR, medication administration training, manual handling certification are highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with families and support home & community care initiatives while respecting resident confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with strong writing abilities to document incidents accurately and collaborate effectively with team members.
