Adult Education Instructor Position Summary
We are seeking an Adult English for Career Success Instructor to lead literacy classes for adult learners. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. This position will require approximately 5 hours per week, spread across 2 days per week, with work taking place in the morning, afternoon, or evenings as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction in workforce skills, digital literacy, reading, writing, and basic communication skills (resources provided)
- Assess learner needs and tailor lessons to individual goals and skill levels
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support learner success
- Integrate digital tools and real-world materials into instruction
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to program reporting for LCPB.
- Work directly with the LCPB Coordinator to secure data requirements.
Adult Education Instructor Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds
- Familiarity with online learning platforms
- ESL or ABE certification is a plus
