Our established Lexington law firm is seeking a highly organized, dependable professional to join our team in a key administrative and payment-processing role.
This is a busy, detail-intensive position involving daily financial transactions, court garnishments, client communications, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys staying busy, and can be trusted to independently handle important tasks from start to finish.
A college degree is not required. We are much more interested in finding someone who is reliable, conscientious, organized, and exceptionally attentive to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Process and post a high volume of incoming payments into our case management software
- Reconcile daily payment activity and balances to ensure accuracy
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment records
- Prepare checks and correspondence related to garnishment proceedings
- Process and mail garnishment documents and payments to courts throughout Kentucky
- Maintain accuracy when handling a large volume of separate checks, court addresses, case numbers, and mailing requirements
- Communicate with clients by email regarding case statuses and routine account updates
- Answer telephone calls from employers regarding garnishment paperwork, payment procedures, and other administrative questions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within the firm’s case management system
- Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the firm’s collections and creditor-rights practice
What We Are Looking For
This position is particularly well suited for someone who is extremely detail-oriented and dependable. Because the role involves client funds, court filings, and a significant volume of transactions, accuracy and trustworthiness are essential.
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- Has excellent attention to detail and catches small errors
- Is comfortable working with numbers and reconciling financial information
- Is highly organized and able to manage repetitive, high-volume work without sacrificing accuracy
- Is reliable and consistently follows through on responsibilities
- Can work independently once trained
- Has good written and verbal communication skills
- Is comfortable communicating professionally with clients, employers, courts, and other third parties
- Has basic proficiency with computers, email, and Microsoft Office
- Is comfortable learning specialized legal/case-management software
- Handles confidential financial and legal information with discretion
- Enjoys a steady workload and a workday that stays busy
Prior law-office, banking, bookkeeping, accounts-receivable, payment-processing, court, or administrative experience would be helpful but is not required. We are willing to train the right person.
