Quality Control Inspector
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
Role and Responsibilities
· Performs complete layout inspection by measuring dimensions such length, height, distance between reference points, using precision measuring instruments such as CMM’s, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gage, gage pins, thread gages, ring gages, and vision systems.
· Able to locate and measure dimensions such angles, arcs, and radius using gage blocks parallel bars, angle plates and V Blocks.
· Performs verification inspection on Incoming, In-Process and Outgoing products.
· Visual compares work pieces against one another to assist / detect manufacturing variations and processes.
· Assists and / or trains operators on part acceptability and measurement and procedures as required.
· Documents Non-Conforming Material in electronic Quality System.
· Reports quality problems or findings to Quality Manager and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
· Maintains record of inspections and prepares list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate the acceptance of parts.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High School / Technical School or equivalent.
· Some college experience a plus.
· Experience with using MS office products.
· ASQ certification a plus.
· Ability to interpret blueprints / technical drawings.
· Basic math and geometry / trigonometry.
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
· Must be able to work in a team environment.
· Flexibility based on plant production schedules.
· A minimum of two year’s previous experience using computer and measuring instruments.
· Testing on Inspection and Measurement is a pre-requisite for the position
Preferred Skills
· Experience with measuring parts on a CMM or vision system a plus.
· Knowledge of GD&T dimensions and tolerancing a plus.
· Knowledge of SPC.
· Experience with precision machine parts and contract assembly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
