Position Purpose:
To clean and re-set all aspects of the guestrooms as assigned by either the Assistant or Executive Housekeeper. To ensure each guest receives the Greatest Customer Experience! Effectively communicating guest’s and Team Member’s needs to the appropriate departments.
Essential Functions:
- Able to stock housekeeping carts with appropriate supplies for the shift.
- Cleans entire bedroom area according to established procedures.
- Cleans entire bathroom area according to established procedures.
- Replenishes all guest room supplies according to established procedures.
- Anticipate and assess guests needs, and respond in a courteous and professional manner
- Always maintain a professional and positive appearance toward the guests and Team Members.
- Communicate with all other departments of the hotel in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure excellent services.
- Fulfill all guest requests or offer an option if request cannot be met
- Know and understand all services and amenities the hotel offers
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
- Comply with energy conservation and job safety regulations
- Report all maintenance problems or safety hazards by filling out a work order for engineering or reporting it to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Must always practice proper safety rules to ensure the safety and security of all guests and Team Members. (issuance of keys, not announcing room numbers and fire procedures)
- Have a working knowledge of the hotels safety procedures and equipment as well as emergency plans
- Vacuum and sweep all carpets and floors.
- Dust all furniture, pictures, decorations, appliances and structural surfaces such as wall fixtures, window sills and vents
- Changing of linen (as scheduled) and re-making of beds
- Ensuring the shower is clean, free of soap scum, hair and mildew
- Removal of all used guest amenities and trash
- Replenishing guest amenities and supplies
- Check for damaged linen
- Check for mildew and damaged shower curtains
- Report any lost and found items to supervisor
- Maintain storage room cleanliness
- Record room statistics on the room assignment sheet
- Reports the status of the rooms as they are completed to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Returns equipment and supplies to the proper storage areas.
- Follows proper safety, security and hospitality procedures.
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Executive Housekeeper
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Communication
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other staff members.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations and the ability to address customer personalities in various business situations.
Creativity
Ability to be innovative and identify opportunities for improvement and problem resolution in a diverse and complex business environment.
Experience
Previous experience in hotels preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience necessary. Minimum of 3 years overall hotel experience strongly preferred.
Physical
Must be able to work in a fast steady motion. Must be able to sit, stand, bend and kneel. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to move quickly from room to room. Must be able to assist with stripping rooms, putting up supply orders, conducting trash runs on multiple rooms, assist with hotel projects such as pressure washing,and other light maintenance projects for the houseman position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
