Duties
- Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide exceptional service at the checkout counter.
- Operate cash registers accurately using retail math skills and handle cash, credit, or digital payments efficiently.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and produce sections with fresh merchandise, ensuring items are properly packaged and labeled.
- Manage inventory control by conducting regular stock counts using RF scanners and maintaining accurate records.
- Load and unload shipments using pallet jacks or forklifts, ensuring safe handling of heavy items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including merchandising displays, produce areas, and storage spaces.
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks to ensure timely replenishment of stock on the sales floor.
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing products to maximize sales and enhance visual appeal.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as pallet jacks and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
- Provide multilingual support to communicate effectively with diverse customers when needed.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for inventory management and stock control.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and team members clearly and professionally.
- Experience operating RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling bulk or heavy merchandise.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, packaging, retail sales, and merchandising.
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly attitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with retail math for accurate cashiering transactions.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse customer base effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and cashiering simultaneously.
- Experience in warehouse or retail environments enhances your ability to excel in this role.
