Fast-growing, high-performing Wize Computing Academy is a project-based computing academy where students learn from a combination of online projects and offline material. Programs at the Wize Computing Academy are designed to meaningfully extend STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) learning and expand a child’s mind by developing critical thinking, logic, and reasoning skills. We prepare students to be the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century. We are expanding our Mid-Peninsula office with new Teachers and Teaching Assistants!
Our curriculum involves teaching LEGO Robotics, 3D printing, Roblox game development, AR/VR app development, Minecraft modding, Scratch programming, Python programming, and AI & Machine Learning classes and camps.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively manage a classroom with children aged between 4 years and 12 years old.
- Engage students in fun and relevant coding & robotics lessons based on established curriculum and specific classroom needs
- Observe and track students’ progress and attendance
- Reinforce positive student behavior and session rules
- Maintain a positive relationship with all students, families, and staff
- Communicate with management to discuss member progress, needs, and concerns
- Attend meetings and professional development training organized by management
- Present oneself and one's ideas with clarity, confidence, and poise
- Dependable and punctual
- Pick up equipment from our workshop office to bring to afterschool classrooms
Qualifications
- Education, training, or experience in technology, teaching, and related areas
- Experience working with children preferred
- Willingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlook
- Deep appreciation for teamwork and drive to be part of a high-level team
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and address varying needs
- Clear background check is mandatory
- The applicant needs to have a car to drive to pick up equipment and bring it to the classroom that is located at a school or a recreation center
Interview
- For the interview, the candidate will be asked to perform a virtual mock-up teaching session for a sample Minecraft, Scratch Jr, Roblox Studio, or another relevant subject.

Pay Range
Lead Teacher: $40/hr
Teaching Assistants: $25/hr
We have a different pay schedule for camps.
