ANNOUNCEMENT OF SERVICE VACANCY
POSITION: Executive Secretary/Child Nutrition and Federal Programs & Curriculum
LOCATION: Lewis County Board Office
QUALIFICATIONS As Per State and County Regulations, those currently employed or on
& DUTIES: the Secretary Substitute List will be given preference
School Secretary Performance Test must be taken and passed by all applicants not currently employed as a secretary

Position is to be split between both programs 50%/50%, as needed

Time & Effort logs must be kept

Maintain Federal Program budgets
-
Assist with curriculum needs
-
Textbooks; (countywide) order, process, maintain inventory
-
Maintain countywide student contest paperwork, order appropriate awards, medals and trophies; create all certificates
-
Oversee with Preschool registration
-
Organize meetings
-
Maintain P Card and reconcile monthly statement
-
Proficient user of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
-
Assist in developing and overseeing annual budget
-
Must have strong fiscal knowledge including reading and interpreting budget reports, purchasing processes, financial coding and budget forecasting
-
Maintain documentation for federal and state monitoring
-
Must have knowledge of and ability to use WVEIS for financial requisition and purchase orders
-
Computer literate with the ability to learn new software and program interfaces.

Prepare and maintain documentation for federal and state monitoring

Preparing and submitting weekly food orders
-
Preparing and sending monthly menu packets
-
Must be able to process free & reduce applications and maintain verification files
-
Attend Co-Op and state meetings, as needed
-
Organize and maintain donated food inventory
-
Preparation for and maintenance of Summer Food Program
-
Posting Child Nutrition information to websites and social media
-
Adhere to strong confidentiality standards at all times

Have strong communication skills

Must have good organization and time management skills

Must maintain a courteous and professional demeanor

TERM: 240 Days
SCHEDULE: 8:00AM-4:00PM
REPORTS TO: Federal Program, Curriculum and Child Nutrition Supervisors
SALARY: As provided in West Virginia Code 18A-4-8 and 18A-4-8a
AVAILABLE: 2026-2027 School Year (prorated for the 2026-2027 school year)
