We are seeking a proactive and hands-on HR Generalist to join a well-established manufacturing organization supporting the automotive industry. This role will work closely with employees and leadership across multiple manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, and supporting the day-to-day HR needs of a fast-paced production environment.
The HR Generalist will play a key role in attracting and retaining skilled manufacturing employees, supporting a positive workplace culture, and ensuring HR practices align with company policies and business needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and building strong relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership at all levels.

Responsibilities
· Oversee robust administrative processes for hiring, terminating, transferring, and promoting team members – ensuring accurate pay, benefit enrollments and compliance transactions including COBRA and I-9s. Develop deep expertise in Paycor payroll and time and attendance.
· Collaborate closely with hiring managers and department leaders to identify hourly staffing needs, develop and maintain accurate job descriptions, establish appropriate qualifications and requirements, and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified manufacturing candidates. Manage the recruitment process from job posting and candidate screening through interviews, selection, offer, and onboarding, with a focus on maintaining adequate staffing levels to support production and operational needs. Assist with developing and tracking HR metrics. Provide HR reports as needed.
· Coordinate all pre-employment activities to ensure standards are maintained and employees’ on-boarding experiences are free from worry or anxiety.
· Manage and process unemployment claims via UIA portal.
· Support the administration of employee leave programs including Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, STD, LTD and PTO. Provide expert guidance to the application and coordination of leave plans and accurate record-keeping.
· Be back up payroll to ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees on a weekly basis. This includes processing child support orders, medical support orders, garnishments, and levies, ensuring compliance within regulatory requirements.
· Maintain and update each facilities’ communication boards and monitors in a timely manner.
· Develop and maintain relationships with local recruiters and staffing agencies to ensure a supply of qualified candidates.
· Work with management and peers to ensure a robust system for clarifying individual and team performance expectations, ensuring timely feedback and ongoing improvement plans are carried out.
· Develop productive relationships with all employees. Solicit regular feedback on the employment experience and champion efforts to continuously improve.
· Provide high-touch support and guidance relative to benefits and related employee programs while coaching team members to be self-sufficient.

Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Communication, Management, or closely related field-OR- equivalent experience and professional training.

Pay: $59,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
