American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring a minimum of one year of RN experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit caring for patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex

Day shift schedule working 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

13-week contract

Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
-
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer skills required

Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinating discharge planning with patients and families

Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Previous workers at this facility may only extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a subsequent contract

Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and non-negotiable
