Full Job Description

The Akron-Westfield CSD has a full-time opening starting August, 2026 for a Middle School Special Education Strat II Teacher.

Basic Function: To provide an educational environment to develop skills needed to be responsible life-long learners and citizens. To assist and ensure that every student achieves his/her level of educational excellence in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional development through collaborative partnership with students, family, educators and community.

Essential Functions:

Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district student achievement goals.
- Provides evidence of student learning to students, families, and staff.
- Implements strategies supporting student, building, and district goals.
- Uses student performance data as a guide for decision-making.
- Accepts and demonstrates responsibility for creating a classroom culture that supports the learning of every student.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time (each up to two hours at a time). Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
