Dillard's Store Services Area Manager Job Description

Nature of Work
This position is responsible for the project management of a large variety of facility maintenance duties throughout the stores. The work will involve application of many technical guidelines. The Area Manager will exercise discretionary judgment and analysis in most situations. General direction will be given along with administrative supervision over a number of skilled, semi-skilled internal associates and outside contractors.
Illustrative Examples of Work
- Selects and recommends persons to be hired, disciplined, or promoted.
- Manages the stores in a defined district using the companies cloud based maintenance management system. Must be able to become proficient in the system. The Area Manager will be responsible for issuing work orders from the system and the project management required to complete all task.
- Plans, directs, and reviews the work of persons in Engineering department.
- Supervises the work of contract labor.
- Coordinates the activities of the Engineering crews.
- Insures policy and procedures are carried out by support personal.
- Reviews, fiscal matters in each store assigned, annually or as needed.
- Insures employees are provided needed training for tasked they are assigned.
- Informs staff of changes in company policy, laws, codes, or regulations. Also, any changes in the use of technology as it relates to their work.
- Receives, Authorizes, prioritizes and delegates work request and expenses
- Keeps records and prepares required reports.
- Determines need, selects and recommends purchase of equipment. In some cases the purchase will also be included.
- Inspects the work of outside contractors for adherence to plans and specifications.
- Consults with vendors and agencies regarding the facility maintenance and environmental issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the proper repair and documentation of all vertical equipment
- Thorough knowledge of acceptable maintenance and repair in all phases of building maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in maintenance of HVAC, Vertical, Roofs.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and other related codes as required by law.
- Skill in analyzing problems and arriving at a reasonable and economical solution.
- Ability to plan and direct the work of subordinate employees.
- Familiar with maintenance management software's, like Service Channel or Corrigo would be a plus. Knowledge in Microsoft suite, and Gmail G suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year

- Maintenance management: 5 years (Preferred)
- Electrical systems: 3 years (Preferred)
