We are seeking an experienced and reliable Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other large vehicles to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow assigned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Deliver freight accurately and on time across various locations, ensuring proper handling of different types of cargo.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo details in compliance with federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Proficiency in driving different types of commercial vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of route planning and route driving best practices.
- Excellent safety awareness and adherence to DOT regulations.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and performing vehicle inspections regularly.
