American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Med/Surg night shift travel contract in Austin, TX, requiring a valid TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Med/Surg unit (3E) in a hospital setting in Austin, TX
-
28-bed unit staffed with a charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs per shift
-
Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Rotating weekends required, with approximately 4 weekend shifts per month
-
Equipment includes Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, and telemetry monitoring

EMR: Meditech
-
No on-call requirements
-
Active TX or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) required; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required

Hospital experience required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Epilepsy care experience is preferred

Meditech EMR experience is a plus

Navy blue scrubs with the facility's logo are required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
