We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Detox Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to individuals undergoing detoxification and behavioral health stabilization. Your energetic approach will help create a safe, nurturing environment where clients feel supported throughout their recovery journey. Detox Technicians monitors patient safety, behavior, and physical well-being throughout their shift in the withdrawal management unit. This role assists with admissions, discharges, belongings inventory and supports withdrawal symptom observation while maintaining a structured therapeutic milieu. The technician also performs daily cleaning and sanitization duties to maintain a safe, hygienic environment. As Rose City Detox grows, changes may occur in job descriptions, duties, and responsibilities as the organization evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patient safety, behavior, and physical wellbeing; maintain milieu presence and actively engage with patients.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and documenting patient belongings.
- Perform and document patient checks, and report incidents promptly.
- Escort patients to appointments or group activities while maintaining a therapeutic environment.
- Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms, surfaces, laundry, sweeping, and other areas per infection control standards.
- Participate in shift handoff communications.
- Documentation requirements in electronic health record and additional websites utilized by Rose City Detox are a crucial part of our program, please speak with supervisor about required documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of de-escalation, CPR/First Aid, and detox-specific training within 30 days of hire.
- Successful background check in accordance with OAR 415-050.
Skills Preferred
- Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques, substance use disorder treatment protocols, and crisis management strategies.
- Prior experience in substance use disorder (SUD), detox, or residential treatment settings preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical documentation, EMR/EHR systems, and electronic health records management.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues including trauma informed care, behavior management, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations.
- Skilled in de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors effectively while maintaining client safety.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and documentation accuracy.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
