Job Description:
We are looking for a Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team and help ensure the safety and effectiveness of patient care through the proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment. Your duties will include cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and inspecting surgical instruments, as well as maintaining accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory. Attention to detail, commitment to safety standards, and strong organizational skills are key to success in this role.
Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities:
- Clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before use.
- Prepare and package instrument trays and surgical sets for procedures.
- Operate and monitor autoclaves, washers, and other sterilization equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological testing, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Monitor and manage inventory of sterile supplies and instruments.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.
- Report any malfunctions, shortages, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CBSPD or CRCST).
- BLS.
