Machine Operator
Job Description:
Alliance Steel is a growing full-service steel processing company, diversifying into steel tubing production. We are currently seeking Machine Operators for multiple manufacturing lines at our Gary, IN location.
Operation of industrial machinery including steel slitting, blanking, cut-to-length, stretcher-leveling, tube mill, and coil processing. Experience on these machines is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment to ensure optimal performance and run speeds. Exceptions to this may include required adjustments for safety, quality, or operating issues necessitating stoppage or slowing of the process for resolution.
- ·Choose and install the correct consumable supplies. Perform safety training, audits, and daily coaching so our team is safe and accident free.
- ·Monitor the manufacturing process – balancing motors to operate at maximum efficiency, lubricating systems at correct rates.
- Daily housekeeping activities to ensure continuing improvement towards a world class appearance and maintain daily desired state.
- PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
- Medium work that includes moving/lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to continuously stand for all or most of a regular work shift, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
