Systems/Technical Engineer - DHS /ICE
Job Summary
Provides guidance and advanced technical engineering expertise to support HITU staff in the management and monitoring of the modernized HITU programs. This role provides technical oversight, analysis, and advisory support to ensure the IT systems are designed, implemented, and maintained in alignment with operational needs, security requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
Duties
- Provide advanced technical engineering analysis and advisory support for IHSC enterprise IT systems and infrastructure.
- Evaluate system architectures, technical designs, and solution proposals for alignment with operational, security, and performance requirements.
- Support the review and provide recommendations for enterprise system modernization, integration, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Identify and assess technical risks, including scalability, interoperability, performance, and sustainability.
- Review and validate technical documentation, system designs, and engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with PMs, developers, security teams, and OCIO stakeholders.
- Support troubleshooting of complex technical issues affecting multiple systems.
- Advise leadership on technical tradeoffs, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced technical knowledge of enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and architecture.
- Experience evaluating technical designs, system architectures, and engineering solutions for alignment with operational and security requirements.
- Ability to provide technical oversight and advisory support to leadership and programming teams.
- Strong understanding of system modernization, integration, and lifecycle management.
- Experience identifying and mitigating technical risks, including scalability, performance, and interoperability concerns.
- Ability to review and validate technical documentation, system designs, and engineering deliverables.
- Proven skill in troubleshooting complex technical issues across systems and platforms.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and decision-makers.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
