Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Office Chief of Programming and Asset Management, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for managing and supervising professional staff to deliver Minor projects, State Highway Operation Protection Program (SHOPP) Reservation projects and the less complex major projects; provides support to the Project Managers (PMs) on the more complex and larger projects; acts as the liaison and provides coordination with cooperating agencies, developers, and consultants to develop projects. Incumbent must have a valid Professional Engineering Certificate.
Manages and supervises professional staff to ensure the development, engineering and administration of projects from inception through completion of the construction contract. Includes projects that are fully or partially funded with local agency funds, developer funds, State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), SHOPP or other fund types. Provides leadership and guidance in the development of project work plans; in creation of Project Development Teams (PDTs), and managing the successful delivery of assigned projects within scope, schedule, budget and quality. Manages both capital and support costs and delivery commitments for assigned projects.
Acts as the liaison and will have extensive coordination with PMs, other divisions in District 3, Program Advisors, management, Division of Engineering Services (DES), Corporate, and external partners in developing the biennial SHOPP and the Federal Transportation Improvement Programs (FTIP), the Ten-Year SHOPP Plan, STIP program, and the annual Minor and SHOPP Reservation Programs. Coordinates the preparation of the District 3 Annual Project Initiation Document (PID) work program and the Capital Project Candidate lists.

Working Conditions
The position is located at 703 B Street, Marysville CA 95901.
While at their base of operations, the employee will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. Travel to work sites for field work and other travel as required.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
