Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Collect and review medical documentation, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and medical billing codes
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks like filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records in systems
- Communicate effectively with patients
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth intake processes and coordinate patient care plans
- Maintain thorough knowledge of health information management standards and office management procedures
Experience
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with clinic or dental clinic experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with EMR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Prior experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or medical records management highly desirable
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a busy office setting
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Previous office management or front desk experience within a healthcare or dental practice is advantageous
