Job Objective: Under the management of the Dietary Managers/Supervisors, performs work with a high degree of accuracy and skill in cleaning the kitchen equipment including but not limited to hood vents, grills, ovens, walls, tables, carts, mopping kitchen floor area, cafeteria areas, clean up of patio areas, emptying and cleaning of trash containers and gondola. Ensure work area is maintained in a high state of sanitation at all times. The FSW will work together with the employees of the department to provide optimal environmental services to the patients, visitors, and staff to ensure the healing and well-being of each individual. The FSW will perform any other related tasks assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean Kitchen and Dining Areas
-
Washes hood system cavity over grill area and outside stainless-steel area with hot soapy water, and shines with stainless steel polish nightly.

Washes hood system cavity over oven area, steamer area, and outside stainless-steel area with hot soapy water, and shines with stainless steel polish every Friday night

Checks hood system chemical reservoir; refills as needed and runs cleaning system for hoods nightly.

Cleans the dust off of the top of reach-in refrigerators according to schedule and shines refrigerators with stainless steel polish nightly.
- Cleans inside of one set of stack ovens, alternating ovens nightly.

Cleans outside and top of all ovens, stove/range, tilt skillet, steamer nightly.

Cleans inside of stove/range and grill top nightly.

Clean all tables, shelves and legs nightly.

Scrub Kitchen floor nightly ensuring that tile grout lines are clean.

Clean & sanitize cafeteria tables, chairs, and café equipment as directed according to cleaning schedule at end of shift.
- Safety
- Always uses appropriate chemicals for cleaning and returns all chemical cleaning agents and equipment to proper area when finished using them. Ensure proper labeling on chemical spray bottles before use.
- Always uses appropriate safety equipment and applicable PPE for task being performed and uses universal precautions at all times by wearing gloves, goggles, and washing hands frequently.

Report equipment in need of repair to the Supervisor.

Records and logs all required information such as filling out cleaning log report within assigned work area and ensures documentation is complete.

Assists and performs other cleaning tasks and cleans other assigned equipment in the kitchen according to the established cleaning schedule and procedure as assigned or requested within the department to maintain standards.
Non-Essential Duties:
- Remove trash from kitchen as needed.
- Empty trash into trash compactor, cleans and sanitizes trash gondola during shift as needed.
- Assist in other areas as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work is usually performed in a very active institutional kitchen and cafeteria environment; with small, limited workspace; and in Walk-in Freezers, and Refrigerators.
- Work requires employees to climb upon and stand upon some equipment in the performance of duties.
- Work requires employees to be on their feet the entire shift with extensive walking.
