Position Overview:
Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required

Bachelor’ degree Preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

RN - Registered Nurse of California - California Department of Consumer Affairs Required or
-
RN-IP - Registered Nurse of California Interim Permit - California Department of Consumer Affairs Required
-
BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Each employee must successfully complete the Department Specific Requirements:

Patient’s Rights and Abuse Training – within three (3) months of start date and annually thereafter.

Cultural Diversity in Healthcare – within three (3) months of start date and annually thereafter.
-
FIM Competency Exam – within three (3) months of start date and biennially thereafter.
-
Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury & Traumatic Brain Injury modules – within three (3) months of start date and annually thereafter.
-
Amputation module – within three (3) months of start date.
-
Swallow function and Oral Care Competency – within three (3) months of start date.
-
SRI Transfer Training Competency – within three (3) months of start date and annually thereafter.

Principles of Rehabilitation Nursing: level 1 curriculum – within three months (3) of start date.
EXPERIENCE

Minimum of six (6) months area specific acute care experience within the last two (2) years Preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.

Independently practices and prioritizes multiple demands in an ever-changing environment.

Pay Range is $76.40 to $101.18 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
