Victim Advocate - Full Time
The Victim Advocate is responsible to the Deputy Director:
- provides direct services to victims of victims of crime and their significant
others including crisis intervention, short term individual and/or group
counseling, hospital, and forensic medical accompaniment,
accompaniment to police interviews, accompaniment to criminal and civil
court proceedings, assistance with crime victim compensation claims,
assistance with victim impact statements in court, victim advocacy
- required on call shifts
- perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Director
and/or Executive Director
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, behavioral sciences, or related field
- Spanish fluency a plus
- Experience with service delivery to victims of crime
- Forty hours of approved sexual assault counselor training to meet the
requirements of 42 PA CSA 5945.1. (The agency will provide this
training.)
-Must have access to a vehicle with an active PA driver’s license
-Must receive clearance from the PA state child abuse registry and sign a
client confidentiality agreement
