Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort while also assisting with various tasks related to pet care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas and hospital, including cleaning cages and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Maintaining accurate records of animal care and treatment, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and health monitoring
- Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
- Support veterinary technicians in basic animal care tasks as required.
Veterinary practice experience preferred but not required. We will provide on the job training. Our opportunity includes the following compensation package:
- $15.00 - $17.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
- Part-Time commitment during weekly clinic hours: Monday – Friday (7:30am – 5:30pm) and rotating split shifts on Saturdays and Sundays (8:00am – 12:00pm or 4:00pm – 6:00pm).
