Cutmaster Music is looking for talented DJs who want more than just another Saturday-night gig.
Maybe you're an experienced wedding/event DJ looking for better opportunities. Maybe you're crushing clubs, bars and parties but want to break into New Mexico's private-event and luxury wedding market. Or maybe you're earlier in your DJ career, have solid fundamentals and are hungry to learn.

Cutmaster Music provides training, mentorship, professional production equipment and access to some of New Mexico's best events and venues. You bring the talent, professionalism, personality and drive.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
We specialize primarily in weddings and corporate events throughout Albuquerque, Santa Fe and surrounding areas.
As a Cutmaster DJ, you'll learn to:
- DJ and MC weddings, corporate events and private celebrations
- Read diverse dance floors and play across generations and genres
- Professionally MC introductions, announcements and special moments
- Work with couples, planners, venues and event professionals
- Manage event timelines and keep celebrations running smoothly
- Set up and operate professional DJ and audio equipment
- Represent Cutmaster Music at a high professional standard
New DJs aren't simply handed an event and told, "Good luck."
You'll learn The Cutmaster Way through training, mentorship and paid event shadowing before being approved as a Cutmaster Lead DJ.
COMPENSATION & GROWTH
DJ Assistant / Paid Event Shadowing: $20/hour
Approved Lead DJs: Typically starting around $750 per event
Established, In-Demand Lead DJs: Approximately $1,500–$2,000 per event depending on package, responsibilities, demand and enhancement sales.
Lead DJs may also receive additional compensation for eligible travel and enhancement sales.
NOTE: The $750–$2,000/day range displayed by Indeed reflects Lead DJ event compensation. DJs developing toward Lead status begin with training and paid event shadowing/assistant work at $20/hour.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- DJ experience and an understanding of mixing and music programming
- Professional DJ controller and reliable laptop
- Working music library
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and appropriate auto insurance
- Weekend availability, particularly Saturdays
- Ability to travel between Albuquerque and Santa Fe
- Ability to safely lift and set up equipment weighing approximately 50 lbs.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills
- Coachability and a genuine desire to improve
2+ years of active DJ experience is preferred, but not required. We will absolutely consider a developing DJ who demonstrates talent, professionalism and serious potential.
Wedding and corporate-event experience is a plus—not a requirement.
LOVE MUSIC — NOT JUST YOUR MUSIC
This is an open-format private-event DJ position, not a single-genre performance role.
One event might call for hip-hop, house and current music. The next might require Bad Bunny, Motown, country, disco, 2000s throwbacks, rock, cumbias and whatever Grandma just requested.
Great Cutmaster DJs understand that the night isn't about their personal playlist. It's about creating an incredible experience for the people in the room.

SCHEDULING
This is a part-time, event-based position. DJs provide availability and are offered events based on scheduling needs and fit.
Most events take place Saturdays, with occasional Friday, Sunday and weekday opportunities. Events primarily take place in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
HOW IT WORKS
Application → Interview → DJ Audition → Cutmaster Training → Paid Event Shadowing → Lead DJ Approval
Experienced DJs may progress more quickly. Developing DJs may spend additional time training and shadowing.
