Job Summary
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Volunteer in our Early Childhood Program! In this dynamic role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by assisting with classroom activities, supervising children, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to early childhood growth while gaining valuable experience in education and childcare. Volunteers will work closely with certified staff to implement age-appropriate learning experiences, promote positive behavior, and ensure the safety of all children in our care.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging activities that promote child development and learning.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
- Support children with their daily routines,
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction, cooperation, and emotional regulation among children.
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and daily experiences.
- Follow all safety protocols, including mandated reporting laws and first aid procedures, to ensure a secure environment for children.
- Help with classroom organization, including setting up materials and cleaning up after activities.
Requirements
- Passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood development.
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, or nannying is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate instructional techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
- Understanding of childhood behavior management strategies and classroom management skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork within the staff.
