The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Office of Marketing & Communications is searching for an Enrollment Marketing Strategist who will serve as part of the marketing team within the LAS Office of Marketing and Communications and focuses on developing, executing, and optimizing enrollment‑driven strategies for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences' online and non‑degree programs. Using data‑informed strategy, compelling storytelling, and strong collaboration, this position supports student recruitment, pipeline development, and conversion through strong marketing for programs serving the modern learner.
ENROLLMENT MARKETING STRATEGY
- Develop and implement marketing strategies across paid and owned channels (including email, web, social media, search, and advertising) to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students in online and non-degree programs
- Conduct market, audience, and competitor research to identify trends and opportunities that inform strategy and messaging
- Collaborate with colleagues to align strategies with college‑wide priorities and institutional enrollment goals
- Ensure adherence to college brand, voice, accessibility standards, and messaging guidelines across all marketing and communication materials
PIPELINE COMMUNICATION
- Manage and optimize prospective student communications within Slate and other CRM platforms by delivering timely email and text messaging from inquiry through enrollment
- Monitor pipeline performance and engagement trends, identifying gaps or drop‑off points and recommending improvements to increase conversion
- Oversee the development of program‑specific marketing content (student testimonials, search optimized web copy, social media, video) while ensuring each program’s value and differentiators are tailored to intended audiences
DIGITAL MARKETING EXECUTION
- Plan and manage targeted paid campaigns across multiple platforms, adjusting tactics to maximize engagement and conversion
- Coordinate with internal resources, campus Strategic Communications, and external agencies to support campaign development, execution, and testing
- Analyze metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, report outcomes, and provide data‑informed recommendations to stakeholders
COLLABORATION & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Serve as the primary point of contact and strategic liaison for online and nontraditional program marketing efforts between program directors, advisors, campus partners, and external organizations
- Work with program staff and partners to align all messaging with program requirements, timelines, and student need
- Manage projects within the MarCom team’s project management framework to ensure work is organized, documented, and delivered on time
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic goals of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area
- Demonstrated professional work experience developing digital marketing content and executing campaigns across multiple online platforms.
- Demonstrated professional work experience in recruitment and admissions and/or enrollment marketing.
- Ability to work with CRM systems such as Slate or similar platforms
- Knowledge of supporting online, non‑degree, or adult‑learner programs
- Ability to analyze digital marketing performance, enrollment funnels, and engagement metrics
- Ability to collaborate with external marketing agencies
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $75,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Hybrid work options may be available for this position after an initial on-site training period, with the ability to be on-site at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus as needed per the University’s Workplace Flexibility policy. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
