Behavioral Health - LVN/LPN
Orientation Dates: ASAP
- 26-week contract
- Orientation: Min 2-3 weeks of on unit mentorship with a seasoned LVN
Hours per week: 40 hours
- 6 am - 2 pm
- 2 pm - 10 pm
- Every other weekend off
Shift: Days or Mids available
Floating Requirements: Agency nurses are generally pulled first if there’s a need to pull to another unit. Initially, nurses are oriented to multiple assignments before settling in where there’s the biggest need.
Weekends: every other weekend
RTO: None preferred
Certs: AHA BLS
Licenses: Active Texas LPN/LVN Licensure
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as the licensed professional they are applying for. For example, an LVN who has just completed RN school must have 2+ years of experience as an RN when applying for that sort of position.
- Min 1 year of Psych experience required
- Experience with a larger med pass
- Home Health, Clinic, and Hospice experience does not prepare a nurse for medication administration like that.
- Agency nurses float first. Please explain expectations.
- Initially nurses are oriented to multiple assignments before settling in where there’s the biggest need.
- If that pull comes months later, they wouldn’t get more orientation at that time. Staff are expected to help identify individuals.
- Need to have clear written and verbal communication skills, they have to communicate with peers, DSPs, PCPs, and also the individuals who live here.
- Must possess valid LVN license.
- Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements.
- Must submit to HHSC required drug test.
- Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting.
- Must complete facility and HHSC required training.
Required: 2 references from 2 different places of work in submittal packets
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients – manage medication administration and treatments; provide medication education and complete documentation.
- Perform computer data entry – Receive full training
- Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, BSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
Pay: $1,600.00 per week
