The Operations Manager reports to the CEO and is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing and production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role leads production teams, manages resources, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Oversee production, maintenance, quality and shipping managers and/or supervisors.
· Analyze production data and prepare daily operational reporting for senior leadership.
· Develop production schedules and coordinate repairs for on the run maintenance and production issues.
· Oversee inventory control for all departments.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
· Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying issues and problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; assists HR with coaching and counseling production employees.
· Works with the HR Department in development and implementation of employment policies and procedures
· Assists HR with regard to and including time and attendance tracking, policy adherence, and holiday and shutdown communications.
· Works with direct reports to identify training needs for entire plant.
· Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
WORK CONDITIONS:
· Office environment; sitting for periods of time in front of computer monitor.
· Walk around production floor, maintenance, quality, and warehouse communicating with employees.
· Standing for long periods of time on the production floor.
· Kneeling and bending from time to time when helping on the production floor.
· Occasional lifting of materials and rolls from 5lbs. – 100lbs.
· Use of stairways from time to time when working on the production area.
· Occasional work from ladders.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Ability to work together and lead teams to achieve a productive end product which meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
· A bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field preferred. 10+ years with direct, hands on, industry experience will be considered for this position.
· Five (5) years of Extrusion production and Maintenance experience a definite plus.
· Knowledge of blown film extrusion.
