Makor Care & Services Network is seeking a professional, reliable driver to provide transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities attending our Day Habilitation Program. Drivers are responsible for operating agency vehicles—including 15-passenger vans and wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs)—on scheduled routes while ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all passengers.
In addition to driving responsibilities, the Driver plays an active role within the Day Habilitation program when not transporting individuals. The Driver is expected to assist program staff and perform Direct Support Professional (DSP) duties as needed. Responsibilities may include providing direct care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living, supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals, implementing habilitation plans, accompanying and supervising individuals during community outings, monitoring individuals with behavioral or medical needs, pushing wheelchairs when necessary, documenting services provided, and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of program participants. The Driver may also be assigned other duties related to the operation of the Day Habilitation program as directed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Makor vehicles (including 15-passenger vans and WAVs)
- Transport individuals with developmental disabilities to and from program and community outings
- Assist individuals with boarding and exiting vehicles; secure mobility devices when needed
- Follow assigned routes and maintain schedules, adjusting for changes as needed
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and maintain transportation logs
- Provide general support to the Day Hab group when not driving
- Supervise individuals in the community or in the program setting as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with program staff and supervisors
- Maintain a respectful and professional attitude at all times
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid NY State driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience operating larger vehicles such as 15-passenger vans or WAVs (preferred)
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (preferred)
- Ability to assist individuals with limited mobility (e.g., pushing a wheelchair)
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently
- Must pass background checks, medical clearance, and drug screening
