Job Summary

Duties
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, adhering to aseptic procedures and safety protocols
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation
- Assist patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing compassionate care during specimen collection
- Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as needed for patient assessment
- Maintain accurate data entry into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Follow laboratory procedures and techniques to ensure specimen integrity and compliance with quality standards
- Support laboratory staff with specimen processing, storage, and transportation within hospital or clinical settings
Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods including venipuncture and capillary sampling
- Excellent patient service skills with a caring approach
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen handling
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely when necessary and stand for extended periods.
