About the Job:
Elgin Die Mold is looking for a 1st shift Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance Team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet our customers’ quality and safety expectations. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive pay and benefits package.
Pay: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
Job description:
Required Skillsets:
- Automotive industry background.
- Experience with corrective actions/CAPA's.
- Experience with customer complaints.
- Experience with IATF 16949 quality systems and compliance requirements.
Description of Duties:
- Manage and monitor quality system.
- Answer and respond to all customer issues.
- Create nonconformance reports and quarantine materials as needed.
- Maintain, update, and monitor job documentation files.
- Complete SPC files and send to customers when needed.
- Perform internal audits.
- Prepare and lead audits of our quality system.
- Coordinate the corrective action process.
- Audit and communicate with external vendors and suppliers as needed to ensure quality product is received.
- Interact with production personnel on nonconformance issues.
- Perform dock audits when needed.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor.
Job Tasks:
- Perform system audits as needed.
- Setup SPC files in system.
- Setup new Job files.
- Generate monthly NR report.
- Gauge R&R studies.
- Assist layout technician as required.
- Evaluate customer returns.
- Perform audits when required.
