Job Summary:
Excellent opportunity for a qualified carpenter with minimum five years’ experience in rough and finish carpentry and other areas of residential construction. The ideal candidate will able to manage job sites with employees and trade contractors. As the front line in achieving company goals, the lead carpenter must be a team player and focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
We are a custom home builder and remodeler serving customers with high expectations for quality. We work in the North Georgia Mountains with clients who appreciate the nature and laid back lifestyle the mountains offer.
Our work day is typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30 minute paid lunch break. We usually keep our jobs within a 30 minute drive from our office, so there are no long drives to reach projects.
Pay based on experience and capabilities.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Knowledge of construction methods and various trades such as demolition, framing, underlayment, drywall hanging, taping and finishing, painting, flooring installation, finish carpentry (trim, case, base, shoe, crown, cabinet installation), window, door and siding installation
- Quality control experience and basic knowledge of applicable building codes
- Ability to interact and communicate well with the Client, Manager, and Subcontractors throughout the job
- Self-starter, team player, and independent worker with attention to detail
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead carpenter is responsible for the successful completion of the jobs given to them, which includes completing on time, on budget, and maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and professional communication. Carpenters work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in tight spaces and must be able to adapt to conditions and circumstances. They work with various hand tools and must keep their tools and worksite in a clean, safe condition. The Lead Carpenter may at times need to deal with customer requests, questions, and inquiries in a polite and business-like manner, and communicate those requests to the Project Manager.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 80 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment. Must be comfortable working on a ladder or scaffolding and on a roof.
- Must have own basic carpentry tools and reliable transportation - van/truck
- Must pass a drug test, hold a valid driver’s license, provide own cell phone
