SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL - INTENSIVE SEBSFAUSEY ELEMENTARYResponsibilities: *Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning*Alert the teacher of any problems or special information about students*Participate in in-service training programs, as assigned*Guide independent study, enrichment work and remedial work assigned by the teacher*Relate to students within the classroom in a manner consistent with the teacher's philosophy in the area of disciplineand instruction*Other duties as may be assignedQualifications: - Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained or Workkeys- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed- Such alternatives found to be appropriate- Experience working with children who have social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities a plus.- Experience with deescalation strategies preferred.Salary: To commensurate with the West Springfield Paraprofessional (Unit D) contract (salary range: $18.67/hr-$23.96/hr)
