American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment on a Med/Surg Neuro unit, requiring a BSN, minimum 3 years of experience, and an Idaho or Compact RN license.

Acute care hospital setting on a 34-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit (Floor 9)
-
Patient population includes stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring

Average patient length of stay is 2–5 days
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4

Neuroscience NPs are staffed 24/7 to support all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients
-
RT resources available on unit with equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow O2, and trachs
-
Philips telemetry monitoring in use on the unit
-
EMR: Epic
-
12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
-
Weekends required as needed

Travelers are first to float to support all Treasure Valley Med/Surg areas
-
No on-call or standby requirement
-
13-week assignment

Active Idaho or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted

BSN required

Minimum 3 years of solid Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required

Ortho/spine/stroke experience preferred; neuro experience is a strong plus
-
Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted

Epic EMR experience

Valid driver's license required

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Charge RN on each shift with no patient assignment; House Supervisor supports the full Boise Hospital campus, with 2 Assistant Managers on nights and 1 on days
-
CNAs are available on the unit at a 1:8 ratio
-
Orientation includes 2 unit-specific days plus a didactic day with the unit-based educator (approximately 24 orientation hours total)
-
Scheduling is managed by the unit manager; travelers are placed where needed and nights are typically scheduled 3 in a row when possible
-
No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
-
Holiday coverage required as needed
-
No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected

Former permanent employees of this facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
