Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Vacuum Truck Operator to join our dynamic construction and utility services team. In this role, you will operate specialized vacuum pump trucks designed for excavation, utility locating, and debris removal on construction sites. Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum trucks and related heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, utility installation, and debris removal tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on construction machinery, ensuring all equipment functions properly and adheres to safety procedures.
- Utilize utility locating techniques to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities commence.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Assist with construction grading, site preparation, and utility work by operating heavy machinery like Caterpillar equipment and excavators.
- Support construction site activities by coordinating with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections to ensure operational readiness.
Experience
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks, water trucks, or similar heavy machinery in a construction or utility setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks.
- Familiarity with construction site operations including excavation, grading, utility installation, and site cleanup.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures is essential.
- Prior experience in utility locating or underground utility work is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery safely and efficiently on active construction sites.
- Construction experience involving excavation, utility work, or site grading will be considered a strong asset.
