Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated EXPERIENCED CNC Haas Mill Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling machines and lathes, primarily Haas brand equipment. Your expertise will ensure precision machining of complex components, adhering to strict quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced factory environment where your mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and machining skills will directly contribute to the production of high-quality parts and assemblies. We are a JOB SHOP meaning you will see different materials, parts for various industries throughout the week.
Duties
- Set up CNC Haas mills by installing tooling, fixtures, and conversational editing parameters based on blueprints and technical specifications
- Operate CNC machines efficiently to produce precision parts according to detailed drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and quality standards
- Edit CNC machines at set and modify existing programs as needed for process improvements
- Conduct routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Perform troubleshooting on CNC equipment, including Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to resolve issues quickly and minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as loading raw materials onto machines using forklifts or hand tools, and preparing finished parts for packaging or assembly line transfer
- Support fabrication activities including welding, tooling setup, or assembly when required for project completion
- Document production data accurately in logs or digital systems; perform quality control checks throughout the machining process
Experience
- 2 years proven experience operating CNC milling machines, preferably Haas brand equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with CNC programming using CAM software; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable
- Knowledge of mechanical tools such as calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments
- Experience with factory safety protocols, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and warehouse procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machinery issues involving PLCs or control systems effectively
- Prior involvement in manufacturing environments that require attention to quality control standards and fabrication processes
- Experience in a Job Shop Setting (Required)
