Purpose:
The EHS Manager will oversee and manage the site's Environmental, Health, and Safety program. This role will ensure compliance to applicable laws and regulations, develop programs, policies, and procedures designed to keep our team members safe and protect the environment. This role will require the building of collaborative relationships across all functions as well as collaborating with other sites and EHS staff. Duties will include:.
Responsible for maintenance of safety, accident and environmental compliance records.
Implement and monitor similar environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and reporting for the US.
Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to employees to ensure a common and effective approach
Practice safe working techniques and reinforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures established by the company
Responsible for identification of risks of losses; evaluating the risk of the loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness
Supervises or advises on the development of specifications for the purchase of safety and safety-related equipment.
Ensure that contractor personnel working at company facilities are in compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training
Provide advice, assist and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
Perform and contribute to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of training programs for the Operations
Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected
Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
Prepare and maintain the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
Accountable for researching and writing permit applications and working with regulatory agencies and being compliant in completing permit reporting requirements.
Review accidents and incidents which occur and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions
Serves as liaison with environmental and safety officials of governmental agencies, industry organizations and committees and with representatives of state and federal regulatory agencies.
Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
Support and lead incident investigations to address root cause
Qualifications:
5+ years Safety Management within a production environment. Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental laws to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Bachelor's degree relating to Industrial Safety preferred.
Possess knowledge of Health, Safety and Risk Management systems
Proven experience in the development and delivery of training
Self-starter and hands on individual who enjoys challenge, can provide creative solutions to unique problems and can manage and develop the Health, Safety and Risk Management functions
Proficiency in all MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrated ethical behavior and integrity and sound, logical judgment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) encouraged
Must be able to work with all levels within the organization and handle multiple tasks.
