PMI Paving is seeking a skilled and experienced Asphalt Foreman to join our team. The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for overseeing the field asphalt crew and operations for both public and private projects. The primary objective is to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services while adhering to project timelines, budgetary constraints, and safety regulations. Your strong leadership skills and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in driving our success.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure crew strictly adhere to safety procedures and regulations, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment for each task. Take immediate action to correct any unsafe work practices or conditions.
- Provide overall on-site leadership on construction project sites, offering direction, hiring and termination assistance, training, and guidance to the crew.
- Plan and coordinate work schedules, including equipment and material requirements, to ensure timely completion of all projects within budgetary constraints.
- Promote a strong safety culture, leading by example and fostering a safe work environment.
- Maintain effective communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, contractors, and inspectors to ensure projects are executed according to specifications and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites, identifying and resolving any issues that may impact the quality or safety of the work.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and equipment utilization. Personal use of cell phone is required for documenting purposes ($25 monthly phone allowance)
- Complete projects in a timely, accurate, and safe manner, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
- Operate heavy equipment and perform other construction-related duties as required.
- Foster a team-oriented atmosphere within the crew, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition and complies with safety standards. Work closely with the dispatcher to ensure the fleet is always ready for operation.
- Cultivate, train, and develop employees to create opportunities for internal advancement.
- Manage employee issues as they arise, working closely with the HR department as needed.
- Meet weekly with VP Ops to present efficiency gains/losses, personnel challenges, future project planning and job costing review.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and blueprints.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in concrete and asphalt paving and maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete and asphalt installation, repair, and maintenance techniques, as well as safety regulations and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate equipment and vehicles used in concrete and asphalt paving and maintenance.
- Willingness to travel for work during weekdays or weekends, as required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be capable of engaging in physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and whole body, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

The compensation range for this position is $70-90K (depending on experience).
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
