Position Summary:
The Supported Employment Specialist provides person-centered employment services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to help them obtain, maintain, and advance in competitive integrated employment. This position conducts vocational assessments, develops individualized employment plans, provides job development and coaching, and collaborates with participants, employers, families, and community partners to promote successful employment outcomes while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and OneWell Health Care policies.
Position Scope:
The Supported Employment Specialist manages a caseload of participants receiving supported employment services throughout Pennsylvania. This position coordinates employment services from assessment through job retention, develops employer partnerships, monitors participant progress, and promotes community inclusion while maintaining compliance with ODP, OVR, Medicaid Waiver, and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
: Conduct vocational assessments, develop individualized employment plans, and assist participants with career exploration, job placement, workplace readiness, and ongoing job coaching to support successful employment outcomes. Build relationships with employers and community partners, coordinate employment services, and collaborate with participants, families, support coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams. Monitor participant progress, maintain accurate documentation, complete required reports and billing, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and OneWell Health Care policies, and participate in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, and other duties as assigned.

- Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP)
- Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)
- Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Requirements
- Medicaid Waiver requirements
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
- HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules
- CMS requirements, as applicable
- OneWell Health Care policies and procedures
Confidentiality:
Maintains the confidentiality of participant, employee, employer, and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA, applicable privacy laws, ODP and OVR requirements, and OneWell Health Care policies.
Documentation Requirements:
Maintains accurate and timely documentation including vocational assessments, employment plans, progress notes, job coaching records, employer contacts, participant outcomes, billing documentation, incident reports, quality assurance documentation, and required regulatory reports.
Certifications:
- Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (when required)
- Valid Motor Vehicle Record
- Authorization to work in the United States
- ACRE or CESP certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, if required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
- One (1) year of experience in supported employment, vocational rehabilitation, IDD services, or related human services preferred.
- Experience with ODP, OVR, Medicaid Waiver programs, and person-centered planning preferred.
- Experience developing employer partnerships and supporting competitive integrated employment preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of supported employment principles and disability rights.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong documentation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop employment strategies and coordinate community resources.
Languages:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual skills are considered an asset.
Driver License:
Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance meeting company requirements.
Travel Requirement:
Frequent travel throughout Pennsylvania is required to conduct participant visits, employer meetings, job coaching, community outreach, and other employment-related activities. Occasional travel outside assigned service areas may be required.
