Position Purpose
Musica Club NYC is seeking a hospitality-focused, energetic, and detail-oriented Busser to join our Front of House team. The Busser plays an essential role in supporting servers, bartenders, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience in a high-volume nightlife and hospitality environment. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest areas, clearing and resetting tables, supporting service flow, and assisting the team in creating a polished, welcoming, and memorable experience for all guests.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall presentation of guest areas, including tables, seating, service stations, and surrounding floor areas.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently throughout service.
- Set tables and service areas with appropriate glassware, silverware, napkins, menus, and other required items.
- Assist servers, bartenders, cocktail servers, and management with service needs during operating hours.
- Stock and restock side stations, service areas, glassware, water, ice, napkins, and other supplies as needed.
- Remove used glassware, plates, bottles, and debris from tables and guest areas in a timely manner.
- Support bottle service, VIP service, lounge service, and general club operations as directed.
- Anticipate guest and team needs to help maintain a smooth and elevated service flow.
- Assist with opening and closing duties to ensure the venue is clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Report any breakage, spills, safety hazards, equipment issues, or guest concerns immediately to management.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and company service standards.
- Attend pre-shift meetings, trainings, and departmental meetings as required.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver a professional, high-energy, and memorable guest experience.
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by managers.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Previous busser, runner, barback, or hospitality experience preferred, ideally in a high-volume restaurant, lounge, nightclub, hotel, or upscale hospitality environment.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced nightlife setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with guests, colleagues, and management.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
- Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, and move throughout the venue for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, bus tubs, glassware, supplies, and other items as required.
- Flexibility to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
- Commitment to upholding Musica Club NYC’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, discretion, and guest service.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
- Must be comfortable working in a busy, loud, and high-energy nightlife environment.
- Must be able to safely navigate crowded guest areas while carrying service items.
